January 12 - Air Charter Service has opened its first office in Brazil, in Sao Paulo.

ACS Brazil will be led by Felipe Haddad who brings over seven years' experience in aviation having previously worked for VARIG, as well as leading executive aviation and helicopter companies.

Air Charter Service's managing director, Tony Bauckham (seen below), said: "We decided long ago to open an office in Brazil, and Felipe and his team have been training with us for a number of months now, some having worked in our London headquarters for more than a year. Having a local presence will allow us to negotiate better rates with local operators and therefore offer savings to our existing client base for any charters that they may have in the region."

Air Charter Service opened a total of four new offices in 2010, and says that it has plans firmly in place for further expansion in this year.
