March 8 - A rolling stone may gather no moss, especially if it is a handled by heavy haul transportation and rigging experts Emmert International and a valuable piece of art.

The Oregon-based handler was contracted to move a 340 tonne boulder from a California quarry to an LA art gallery. The rock, one of the largest moved since ancient times, will serve as a part of artist Michael Heizer's "Levitated Mass" sculpture at an exhibition in the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art (LACMA).

The move was expected to take 11 nights to move the boulder through four counties and 22 cities at a 7 km/h crawl, travelling between 22:00 and 23:00 (pictured below).
