May 18 - Cargolux has launched twice weekly scheduled flights to Chongqing, China.

The inaugural service flew from Luxembourg via Doha and Sharjah prior to arriving at Chongqing's Jianbai International Airport. 

The aircraft returned to Luxembourg via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Baku. 

The second weekly service, routed via Tbilisi, Baku and Singapore, is scheduled to arrive in Chongqing in the early morning of May 19. 

The return flight via Baku will reach Luxembourg in the early afternoon on the same day. 

Frank ReimenCargolux president and CEO said: "In adding Chongqing to our portfolio of global destinations, we are extending our dense coverage of the most important Asian destinations. We see a lot of potential in Chongqing, not least because of the planned expansion of the airport's cargo facilities to accommodate the region's burgeoning export market."
