February 12 - EMS Chartering has begun the transport of four 130-tonne transformers from their production facility in Germany to Turkey.
The ABB-manufactured transformers, which had the dimensions 6.1 m x 4.8 m x 4.7 m, were first transported on low loaders from ABB's facility in Bad Honnef to a pontoon at the river Rhine.
From the pontoon, the transformers will be transported downriver to Antwerp, before being loaded onto a vessel for on carriage to Derince in Turkey.
The transformers are scheduled to arrive in Turkey at the beginning of March.
