May 20 - Leer headquartered EMS Chartering, contracted by Denmark's Dong Energy, has shipped 38.5 km of subsea cable from Nordenham, northwest Germany to Barrow-in-Furness, England.

The cables will be used to connect the offshore West of Duddon Sands wind park with the British mainland.

The 1,252 tonne length of cable was loaded onto the vessel Fehn Antares, operated by Germany headquartered Fehn Ship Management. The vessel was equipped with a special steel cage to transport the subsea cable (pictured).

Upon arrival in the UK the cargo was discharged, ready for loading onto a cable-laying vessel.
