February 19 - Maxtrans NV has transported a 400-tonne liquid gas tank from its manufacturing site to the nearest quay in Genk, Belgium on Faymonville's S-module axle lines.
Maxtrans connected an 8x4 tractor unit to the trailer using a gooseneck, so that the liquid gas tank - which was 74 m long and had a diameter of 8.4 m - could be transported to a quay on the Albert Canal and carried downriver to Antwerp.
Faymonville's ModulMAX modular vehicles can be coupled not only with each other - lengthwise and crosswise - but also with other transport units and accessories.
The gas tank was built by Belgian manufacturer of pressure vessels, silos and other specialised process equipment, Ellimetal.
