June 30 - The Anglo-Costa Rican company, Laninco SA has handled approximately 1,200 tonnes of project cargo from port side to the construction site at Las Pailas, where the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad is building a geothermal power station in

The project is part of the Costa Rica government's aim to be 100 percent carbon neutral in power production by 2021 and is financed by the Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica B.C.I.E.

Laninco coordinated the movement from port to site of 24 heavy and out of gauge units of up to 65 tonnes, plus additional cargo, taking into consideration low and weak bridges which are a particular problem in Costa Rica.

All cargo was cleared from port and delivered ahead of schedule. The latest shipments were the culmination of several months of logistics operations in which Laninco has moved around 2,500 tonnes of cargo to the site.
