July 29 - Haropa's port of Le Havre will publish a quality guide concerning cargo handling operations at the gateway's ro-ro terminal by the end of 2015.
The publication is being compiled in partnership with cargo handling companies Manucar, Roussel and SMR, as well as shipowners UECC, Wallenius Wilhelmsen, ERL, EML and the Le Havre Dockers' Union.
"All of the steps that are carried out daily at the port's hundred hectares of ro-ro terminal will be carefully studied," said Manucar manager Franck Parette.
Loic Minvielle, vice chairman of Wallenius Wilhelmsen for Benelux and France, added: "Whether it involves car driving, reporting possible damage, loading or offloading operations, or specific rules for high and heavy cargo, the guide will compile all good practices common to those involved in the ro-ro sector."
