June 27 - A gas cooler weighing 141 tonnes was loaded on board an aircraft at Leipzig/Halle Airport having made its way to the airport from Berlin by inland waterway and low loader.
Two cranes were also used to move the unit on board an Antonov AN 225 using a specially constructed ramp.
The heaviest item of freight ever handled at Leipzig/Halle Airport, was loaded by employees of PortGround GmbH, the ground handling and freight services provider that is part of the Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG Group and has had many years of experience in handling heavy items.
