May 7 - LuxairCARGO - the primary air freight ground handling agent at Luxembourg International airport - has joined the IATA-led Cargo 2000 (C2K) quality management programme.

C2K bring together 77 parties from across the air freight industry and under a master operating plan aims to improve the movement of goods from shipper to consignee. LuxairCARGO operates a 293,000 sq m terminal at the Luxembourg's busiest airport; in 2012 it handled 677,000 tonnes of cargo.

Dirk Schmitt, AVP business administration for LuxairCARGO, said: "We decided to join because we see Cargo 2000 as the premier quality standard and quality management system for the air cargo industry. We are demonstrating our commitment and ability to measure and improve our part in the air cargo quality process."
