June 5 - Effective September 7th 2009, the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group will merge its supply chain management activities branded as Maersk Logistics and its freight forwarding activities branded as Damco, under the single brand name 'Damco'.
Under the single brand, Damco will continue to offer its more than 10,000 customers worldwide a broad range of logistics services from forwarding and time-sensitive reefer logistics to advanced supply chain management solutions and consultancy. Damco has dedicated project cargo teams around the world which plan and coordinate all the logistics involved a particular project management contract.
Rolf Habben-Jansen, CEO of Maersk Logistics and Damco claims that that under the single brand Damco will be "a locally anchored and customer-focused forwarding business, offering advanced and visionary supply chain solutions - all backed up with the strengths, stability, and capabilities of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group."
From now until September 7th, the supply chain services will continue to be delivered under the Maersk Logistics brand, and the forwarding services will continue to be delivered under the Damco brand.
