October 4 - The completion of the final asphalting at the J. M
The new storage facilities at the J. Müller Breakbulk Terminal GmbH will be used mainly for large and heavy goods such as steel products and wind energy components.
Hence, a special asphalt mix has been used during the construction work, which is suitable for the requirements of the large weights that are anticipated.
For 2012, traffic volumes over the J. Müller Breakbulk Terminal are expected to include 700,000 tonnes of iron and steel, 1 million tonnes of cellulose and, respectively, 100,000 tonnes of wind energy components and recyclable materials.
The Niedersachsenkai now offers a quay some 450 m in length for the simultaneous release of two large ships and can handle weights of up to 1,000 tonnes.
