September 1 - NorSea Group has established an offshore wind company in Denmark, NSG Wind, which it says will provide a full range of industry services.

According to NorSea Group, NSG Wind has already won orders in several countries, including Denmark, Germany, UK and Taiwan.

"European offshore wind markets continue to grow and the markets in Asia and North America are mushrooming," said NorSea Group ceo John E. Stangeland.

"There is therefore a growing need for the palette of services the NorSea Group has built over the past 50 years, including seabed investigation, transport cable inspection, onshore and offshore logistics, installation, service and maintenance - as well as specially designed vessels and other offshore equipment. Given the market situation, staking on offshore wind is an obvious step for us to take."

NSG Wind will provide services for operators, wind turbine manufacturers and sub-suppliers, said NorSea Group. The company is owned by Danbor - NorSea Group's Danish subsidiary, which is headquartered in Denmark.

Former director at Offshoreenergy.dk, Morten Basse has taken on the role of ceo of NSG Wind. He is accompanied by a team of specialists in subsea, port, transport and logistics, marine, installation and pre-assembly services.
