December 9 - The 7,150 dwt dry cargo carrier, NEVA LEADER 7, built by Nevsky Shipyard LLC for Russia's North-Western Shipping Company (NWSC), has embarked on sea trials.

The vessel features a 52 m long middle cargo hold that is suitable for shipping oversized project cargoes on European-Caspian sea routes and, according to the shipping line, is by far the largest dry cargo vessel that can safely negotiate the size-restricted Volga-Don canal.

NEVA LEADER 7 has an overall length of 139.5 m and a breadth of 16.7 m. It has a sea draft of 16.7 m and a river draft of 4.7 m. The vessel's deadweight tonnage is reduced to 4,520 dwt when on river voyages.
