PCN welcomes a trio of new members

November 1 - The geographical spread of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) is demonstrated by a trio of new signings in Kenya, Greece and Ecuador.

The UK-based network has welcomed: its first member in Kenya; a further member in Ecuador; and a new member in Greece, says Rachel HumphreyPCN chairwoman.

Express Shipping & Logistics (EA) is headquartered in Mombasa, with a branch office in Nairobi. It offers all services expected of a PCN member, including but not limited to, ships agency, ship chartering/broking, consultancy and project management.

Managing director Silvester Kututa said: "Dealing with us reduces risk in expediting cargo and ship operations."

Goldair Cargo was established in 1987, operating in the field of multimodal transport from Greece. Its warehouse has a total capacity of 11,700 cu m and covers a space of 3,500 sq m.

In Latin America, Schryver Del Ecuador has joined PCN, following recommendation by an existing PCN member. The company has held a leading position in the Ecuadorian logistics market for more than 25 years and specialises in heavy lift cargo by air, ocean and land as well as urgent/priority cargo. It operates from a head office in Quito and has branch offices in Guayaquil and Cuenca.

Head of oil and energy division, Matthias Schmid, said: "We recently moved a workover rig for the Ecuadorian petroleum industry from Romania to the Ecuadorian Amazonian jungle. In total the workover rig weighed 101.2 tonnes. To transport the mast of 19.5 m, we used an extendible flat bed."
