Project Cargo & Yacht on the double

May 17 - Project Cargo & Yacht Transport, a Project Freight Network (PFN) member in Istanbul, Turkey has completed a breakbulk shipment from the Port of Istanbul (Turkey) to the Port of Tobruk (Libya).

The 78.25-tonne shipment consisted of two out-of-gauge heavy lift pieces, as well as three 40 ft open top containers and a 20 ft dry cargo container. The dimensions of these pieces were 7.70 m x 7.30 m x 1.79 m and 7.10 m x 7.20 m x 1.79 m. Both pieces were secured in a specially designed frame so that lashing and securing was possible without damaging them.

The pre-carriage of the shipment had to be carried out in the early hours of the morning due to road regulations, as well as to ensure a safe delivery to the port terminal in Istanbul.
