October 18 - Mortrans has transported three large reformer units from Constanza, Romania to Togliatti, Russia.

The company, which is the Russian member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for both St Petersburg and Moscow, says that each item was more than 22 m in length and weighed around 40 tonnes.

Initially, the cargo was shipped in two separate consignments along the Danube river from its origin point to Constanza port, for subsequent consolidation and shipment by river and ocean-going tonnage via the Black and Azov Seas into the Russian inland waterways via the Don and Volga rivers, as well as the Volga-Don Canal.

Although the final port of discharge was changed from Samara to to Togliatti, Mortrans re-negotiated successfully with the vessels owners to avoid demurrage charges.
