German project shipping specialist SAL Heavy Lift has placed an order for up to six 14,600 dwt multipurpose heavy lift vessels with China’s Wuhu Shipyard.
The contracts were signed on July 15 and cover four newbuildings, plus two options. The highly specialised vessels will each feature two 800-tonne lifting capacity cranes. Each ship will measure 149.9 m long.
SAL Renewables has changed its name Atheleon, in response to the growing importance of the wind energy industry.
