Sarens has installed several wind turbines for the Whitla Wind project in Alberta, Canada, on behalf of Borea.

Sarens offloaded wind turbine components, including tower sections, nacelles, blades and hubs, before using two LR-1600 cranes and a CC-2800 crawler crane to install the sections.

Before the lifting operations could commence, Sarens had to mobilise the equipment to the project site. The LR-1600 cranes, which have a lifting capacity of 600 tonnes, were mobilised from Ontario, while the CC-2800 arrived at the project site from Quebec.

When operational, the Whitla Wind farm will consist of 56 Vestas V136 turbines.
