Seven Seas ships power gear

December 23 - Jordan headquartered Seven Seas Shipping has transported five transformers from Masan Port in South Korea to Iraq.

Each transformer weighed 233 tonnes. Additional bulk cargoes and accessories shipped with the transformers meant that the entire consignment weighed 1,899 tonnes.

The consignment was shipped to the port of umm-Qasser, before being hauled 175 km north to the new Shat-al-Basra gas power plant using 5 low-loaders and 75 trailers.

The transformers were offloaded at the project site using hydraulic jacks onto steel stands. The cargoes arrived safely and without damage, says Seven Seas Shipping.

Seven Seas Shipping is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC).
