January 29 - Huisman China has completed the installation of a 3,000-tonne capacity offshore mast crane onboard EMAS AMC's Lewek Constellation.

Huisman China installed the heavy duty crane using its 2,400-tonne capacity quayside crane, dubbed the 'Skyhook'. The installation process was completed in just two lifts over the course of three days.

Lewek Constellation will become the latest addition to EMAS AMC's fleet of pipelay and construction vessels when it is commissioned later this year.  The 178 m long vessel is ice classed and has DP 3 systems; its 3,000-tonne capacity crane will make the vessel suited for heavy lift offshore operations. The vessel will leave Huisman China in April 2014 and is due to arrive at Huisman Schiedam mid-2014 for the installation of a 800-tonne multi-lay pipelay tower.

Huisman China's Skyhook has two main lifting configurations: an extended reach configuration that is able to place a 200-tonne load at a 90 m outreach with maximum lifting height of 140m; and a heavy lift configuration capable of lifting 2,400-tonnes at an outreach of 90 m (maximum lifting height of 100m).
