SP SP invests for efficiency

January 30 - During 2013, JSC Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg (SP SP) allocated RUB224.8 million (USD6.41 million) towards the development of port infrastructure and modernisation of terminal equipment.

Over the course of the year, SP SP used the majority of this fund for handling equipment improvements. Ro-ro equipment and fork-lift trucks were put into operation at its ro-ro terminal. Radio-controlled grabs, bucket loaders and semi-trailers were purchased to increase the handling efficiency of loose and bulk cargoes; new handling accessories were also implemented to aid general cargo handling at the gateway.
