Terex delivers newest crawler

June 18 - Terex Cranes has delivered the first Superlift 3800 lattice boom crawler crane to Trier, Germany based special purpose installation and heavy haulage firm Steil Kranarbeiten.

"The crane's design as a whole was what ultimately led to our decision - with a design optimised for transportation and its powerful performance characteristics, this new machine will allow us to tap into a variety of new industrial and wind power potentials," explained Birgit Steil, general manager at Steil Kranarbeiten.

The crane, built at Terex's Zweibrücken plant, was delivered with a 159 m LSL and a 12 m LF configuration. The Superlift 3800 crawler was deployed onto the Gödenroth wind farm straight after it was delivered.

The crawler is capable of lifting up to 650-tonnes. It has been designed with worldwide transportation in mind, and the ability to reduce erection times without the need for additional equipment. In standard configuration, the Terex Superlift 3800 is capable of installing wind turbines up to 117 m tall.

Birgit Steil receives the new Terex Superlift 3800 in Zweibrücken from Francois Truffier, vice president and general manager, Terex Cranes entgegen.
