Up and under for Megatranz

September 7 - If you can't go under, you have to go over: that was the message for transport managers when faced with the movement of three modules destined for a Brazilian oil and gas refinery.

Megatranz Transports was charged with moving three RCC (Regenerator Continue Catalyst) modules, weighing between 110 and 168 tonnes, aimed at improving the quality of fuel produced at the Paulínia refinery and reduce the need for machine downtime.

The project forwarder required six operations to go over viaducts and overpass at 15 km and 47 km on the D. Pedro highway, São Paulo, Brazil, using four cranes.

The cargo had been transported from Tarragona, Spain. Megatranz was responsible for discharge at the port of São Sebastião as well carrying out infrastructure works, such as constructing temporary roads and detours.

During the move, a footbridge was lifted to allow the cargo to pass underneath.

The lifts were performed with four cranes, two with capacity of 500 tonnes, one with a capacity of 300 tonnes and another with capacity of 250 tonnes.

Three hydraulic modular trailers with 16 axles were also used.
