October 2 - Netherlands based heavy transportation specialist Van der Vlist has completed the assembly of a huge Komatsu truck at its headquartered in Groot-Ammer, before safely delivering the 80-tonne machine to Germany.
Based upon the customer's requirements, Van der Vlist decided that the huge vehicle should be partially assembled prior to transport to make it as easy as possible for the client to handle upon arrival.
During the assembly process, Van der Vlist technicians made some specific alterations to the Komatsu unit and gave the truck a final touch-up to ensure it was in perfect condition. Van der Vlist conducted a thorough pre-delivery inspection of the truck before it was partially disassembled for transport.
The main part of the Komatsu unit weighed in at 54 tonnes and was 5.5 m wide. The dump body weighed 16.5 tonnes and measured 5.6 m wide.
The truck was delivered on time to client, ready for the on-site reassembly.
