August 26 - WWL ALS - a division of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics - has opened its first representative office in South Africa.
According to WWL ALS, South Africa and the Sub-Saharan region can provide business opportunities for the project forwarding specialist.
The company says it has already managed to secure a large turnkey project to a copper mine in Zambia, which started recently and will continue until the end of 2015.
In addition, WWL ALS has had positive discussions with some major European manufacturers regarding its services to the region and the first orders have already been received for surveying and certification.
The main opportunities in the area revolve around the mining sector and through its regional agent Freitan, WWL ALS feels it can continue to grow in the market.
