December 31 - BNSF Logistics, member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) network in the USA, and Turkish member of the WWPC network, Smart Logistics, have handled a project shipment of cement mill equipment from Izmir, Turkey to Houston in the USA.

The cargo, which had a total volume of 1,600 cu m, included several pieces weighing 22.7 tonnes with the dimensions 6.7 m x 1.8 m x 3.9 m and 7 m x 3.7 m x 1.8 m.

The equipment, which is bound for a cement plant in Alberta, Canada, was shipped on board the multipurpose vessel, Maersk Texas, and will be transported from Houston to Canada by truck.

Elsewhere, in addition to the news posted by HLPFI on December 16, 2013, BNSF Logistics and its Brazilian JV partner have handled the transport of 86 cases, with a total of 266 cu m, containing parts for a wind-powered electricity generator from Mumbai, India to Sao Paulo in Brazil.

The cargo was picked up at the factory in India and packed by another WWPC member, the Sahil Group, before being transported to Brazil on two flights with Emirates airline.
