October 11 - Denmark headquartered Blue Water Shipping (BWS) has strengthened its position in the Nordic transport market following its acquisition of Swedish freight forwarder, ACi Transport & Spedition, based in Malm

ACi will be rebranded under the BWS banner and will become the company's third office in Sweden, alongside its recently established office in Stockholm and Blue Water Gothenburg.

"Southern Sweden is an important business area, and we already have a large client portfolio in this region. Expanding with an office in Malmö which focuses on road, sea and air, is a logical step in the development of Blue Water's activities," observed Björn E. Jensen, manager of BWS in Sweden.

ACi was founded in 1988 and employs eight staff. It focuses on transport services within Europe, with a specific focus on Germany, Benelux and Italy. ACi has a strong background in project transportation, with a number of its business partners offering bespoke project forwarding services.

Roberto Ecke, general manager for ACi said regarding the acquisition: "We gain power in a highly competitive market, as we are now able to offer an extended range of services. We are convinced that our clients and business partners alike will feel the positive effect."
