April 18 - Following the recruitment of Nacho Carretero, UK-based air charter broker, Chartersphere says it is seeking further development in Spain and South America.

Carretero has several years experience as a broker and freight forwarder in the air freight industry in Europe, as well as Latin America, and is tasked with spearheading further growth following a busy trading period in March which included the completion of two charter operations which demonstrated its ability to move quickly to meet clients' needs.

Chartersphere carried out an urgent contract for refuelling trucks from the European Union to Nairobi in Kenya using a stage-four compliant IL76.

The time-critical shipment of the outsize vehicles was required to complete a new fuelling contract. The trucks were in operation just two days after being delivered.

Chartersphere also successfully delivered a consignment of "go-now" oil and gas equipment from the UK to Azerbaijan.

The AN12 flight was operational within 24 hours of the company receiving the order during which time all overflight and landing permits were put in place.

Chartersphere managing director Paul Bennett said Mr Carretero's appointment would significantly strengthen operations.

Bennett said: "I am delighted to welcome Nacho on board. He has valuable experience in crucial markets such as Brazil which is an economic powerhouse and increasingly important to global trade.

"I believe we can now expand our presence in Europe and Latin America to build further on the successes of the past year," he added.
