Ekert has held previous leadership and executive management roles at SmartCap Technologies, Austin Engineering and Principle Industries, and has been acting as ceo at under-the-jib equipment supplier Verton as part of a structured succession plan.

Bourne said: “Over the past year, Tim’s contribution to the business has seen growth in our internal capability and global customer base. His knowledge and experience will drive the company’s growth and international expansion strategies.”

Ekert added: “Verton’s unique and innovative load orientation products presents many opportunities in the lifting industry. In this respect, the company has positioned itself firmly to deliver lifting solutions for clients and stakeholders worldwide. The company has a strong and established presence in Australia with continued growth in international markets, particularly the USA and UK. Verton is well placed to disrupt the status quo. I am truly excited by the challenges and opportunities this presents.”
