A new Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7 mobile harbour crane (MHC) will be stationed at the port of Thisvi, Greece.

The port’s operator, DIA.VI.PE.THI.V, booked the order in Q2 2025, with delivery and commissioning scheduled for Q1 2026.

The new MHC has a 51 m working radius and a maximum lift capacity of 125 tonnes. Equipped with an external power supply, it emits no local emissions when connected to the grid.

It joins two earlier-generation Gottwald cranes in operation at the port. “The move to electrification is accelerating worldwide. By choosing a Generation 6 crane, Thisvi is boosting its capacity with equipment that’s quieter, cleaner and built for the long haul,” said Alexandros Stogianidis, regional sales manager, Konecranes Port Solutions.

Thisvi Industrial Area is a key hub for Greece’s steel and aluminum manufacturing. Bulk raw materials arrive at the port for processing, with finished heavy cargo products – mainly coated steel pipes –shipped to markets across Europe, the Caspian region, the Middle East and Africa.

Earlier this year, Combined Cargo Terminals (CCT) in the Netherlands ordered a Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7, its ninth MHC.
