ALE has transported and installed two transformers for the Boulenouar wind farm project in Mauritania.

The engineered transport specialist delivered the 95-tonne units from the port of Nouadhibou directly to the project site, a distance of approximately 100 km. For the road transport, ALE utilised a six-axle trailer with a 250-tonne capacity tractor unit.

Once at the site, the transformers were unloaded using 90-tonne capacity hydraulic jacks. They were discharged onto a track before the units were rolled on their own wheels to their final position.

The Boulenouar wind farm will consist of 39 wind turbines. Construction is expected to be completed in 2019.
