The LHM 600s will assist DP World’s expansion into the handling of breakbulk and project cargo at Constanța.

The two LHM 600 cranes are configured for tandem operations, allowing for lifts of up to 400 tonnes. Liebherr said that these MHCs are designed heavy lift assignments, grab operations and container handling.

Each crane operates principally on an advanced electric drive system designed for efficiency and lower emissions, with a diesel engine available as a backup. Liebherr’s Sycratronic assistance system enhances safety during tandem lifts, while a full-surround camera suite improves situational awareness.

“The new mobile harbour cranes will once again enable the port to respond to rapid developments in the operational and commercial environment,” commented Marian Drăgoi, general manager at DP World Constanța.

Opened in May 2024, DP World Constanța’s project cargo terminal features reinforced platforms and deep-water berths, allowing for the handling of items such as wind turbine components.
