KENC completes engineering scope for Jumbo

The Netherlands-based KENC Engineering has collaborated with Jumbo to prepare the heavy lift vessel Fairplayer for an FPSO installation project offshore Brazil.

Jumbo contracted KENC to engineer a 192-tonne capacity gypsy winch grillage and an overboarding tool capable of handling 120-tonne torpedo piles. KENC also provided Finite Element Method (FEM) calculations to analyse the effects on the hull structure.

KENC completed its scope of work within four months, which, according to Jumbo’s lead engineer Jeroen Alberts, “made a positive impact on the lead time of the project”.
